One family’s dream of rustic farmhouse living led to a modern blend of comfort and sophistication in Santa Barbara County, California. Featured in the Fall 2020 issue of Traditional Home, this custom build was a collaboration between Brandon Architects and Patterson Custom Homes, with design insight from Blackband Home & Design. Thoughtfully positioned beside a majestic oak tree which overlooks the valley below, this home’s plentiful picture windows lend panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, helping to bring the outdoors in. The selected hardware is finished with an engaging combination of dark and light patinas, and features selections from multiple collections including the sleek lines of our Metro Entry Set and the bold simplicity of our Rail Grips. It’s an exquisite example of the versatility and organic charm of handcrafted bronze.
Mid-Century Modern
This remote Croy Canyon, Idaho residence is a bold representation of mid-century architecture. Both timeless and unique, this home, built by Sawtooth Builders, features a harmonious blend of stone, glass, cork, wood, and Rocky Mountain Hardware hand-cast bronze design elements. Our Branch Grip placed on the home’s contemporary paneled front door provides an organic, welcoming touch to the lofty entryway. Our Organic Square Grips, finished with a White Brushed patina, lend natural texture and shape in a unique application. Endlessly adaptable, here they are positioned horizontally on doors featuring soft-close roller catches. Simply presented with a cool color palette, this home is a dynamic ode to modern minimalism.
Salt Lake Chic
Atop a ledge in Salt Lake City, Utah sits a stunning example of bronze’s versatility and the ability of Rocky Mountain Hardware collections to intermingle with other design elements in unique ways. The chic dark tones of this home’s exterior are a perfect contrast to the bright and colorful interior design, which is accentuated with striking pops of gold. Featuring hardware from many of our collections, this home is a joyous medley of influences and design elements. In the kitchen alone, you can see pieces from famed hotel designer Roger Thomas’ Flute Collection mingling with selections from highly acclaimed designer Ted Boerner. Through this diverse design aesthetic, a unified patina brings each element together seamlessly.
East Fork Remodel
A stunning picture window overlooking the East Fork Wood River and a modern glass wine cellar are just a few of the notable highlights inside this East Fork, Idaho remodel. The homeowner, who had fallen in love with the secluded location was drawn to our handcrafted hardware and chose early on in the project to feature Rocky Mountain Hardware prominently. The simple and clean lines of our Metro Collection, punctuated by Rail Grips, are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the home. Each handle and escutcheon is finished with our striking Bronze Dark Luster patina, which demonstrates how a cohesive finish can bring together eclectic design elements. It’s a testament to the organic and perfectly imperfect nature of bronze, and its ability to stand out against a variety of surfaces and color selections. The builder on the remodel was Lee Gilman Builders, the interior designer was Latham Interiors.
Sawtooth Contemporary
This mountain getaway home is atop a bench in between the Sawtooth and White Cloud Mountains with 360 breathtaking views. The contemporary home was designed to be a place for family and friends to gather together and enjoy each others company away from it all in the mountains. Rocky Mountain Hardware Metro collection is featured on all of the doors throughout the home.

Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, this fully remodeled A-frame is a now a family friendly, mountain contemporary home in a bustling ski town. Folded into the modern mountain architecture are colorful, contemporary pieces to brighten up the beautiful wood cabinetry and design elements. Natural tones throughout the house compliment our custom white bronze, dark dull finish found throughout.

Working with a muted pallette, this remodeled house weaves together a cozy, masculine look with various textures of stone and tile. Stunning accent pieces including a glass chandelier and cherry wood cabinets create a welcome home for Rocky Mountain Hardware cabinetry and door sets throughout.
Rustic Contemporary
Nestled in the heart of Wyoming, this secluded oasis has breathtaking views of the Tetons and the Snake River plain. The home artfully mixes a variety of organic materials from board-formed concrete walls with clean lined steel details, to hand carved reclaimed wood doors with our bronze hardware creating a welcoming contemporary feel with huge style. The home features a variety of RMH collections, including our Olympus levers and grips which creates such a unique modern aesthetic.
The Bunker
The Bunker is a multi-generational mountain retreat created for a client willing to take on risks while maintaining two top priorities: family & fun. To satisfy the couple’s differing styles, the home combines indigenous Montana moss rock and reclaimed wood with steel accents and clean lines, along with the occasional pop of bold color. Tucked along the fringe of the 13th fairway at the Yellowstone Club, this 10,000+ SF home boasts breathtaking views of Big Sky with its oversized glass windows and multiple gathering areas.
Hillside Contemporary
Perched on a mountainside near Sun Valley, ID, this home was built and designed to maintain a seamless integration of clean lines. To complement the contemporary aesthetic, interior designer Jennifer Hoey, adorned “jewels” to both the cabinets and doors with oversized Rail pulls on the cabinets and black leather Designer Collection door hardware. Hoey explained that the white bronze, dark patina finish chosen for all the hardware brought a vibrant texture to both the doors and cabinetry creating a luminous interior environment.
Hanalei Bay Vista
This tropical home on Hanalei Bay features modern details and hardware throughout. Tucked into the foothills of the Napali Coast, the home’s aesthetic blends teak wood and other natural elements of the area with Rocky Mountain Hardware sinks and faucets, cabinetry, door hardware and hinges. Grand Teton Getaway
Overlooking the breathtaking Grand Teton Range, this contemporary home mixes the heavy textures of board formed concrete and rusted steel panels with the soft textures of cozy lambskin rugs and buttery leathers. Rocky Mountain Hardware’s Metro collection, shown in silicon bronze, dark lustre patina, marries the modern aesthetics of the home with classic high-country style. Floor-to-ceiling windows also offer guests year-round panoramic views of the stunning landscapes surrounding the cabin.
Fox Creek Home
Our Trousdale Collection is used throughout this modern yet cozy alpine cabin. The dark tones of the timbers and steel used throughout compliment the warm wood and create an inviting place to sit by the fire after a day on the ski hill. The custom designed home is located just north of Sun Valley, Idaho at the foothills of a majestic mountain range. Trousdale was designed for Rocky Mountain Hardware by Kravitz Design and is headed by accomplished musician, actor, designer, Lenny Kravitz.
Farmhouse Kitchen
Cassandra LaVelle, lifestyle and design blogger, remodeled her Seattle home and incorporated our hardware throughout. The home was built in the 1920’s and was due for a major update. They went for a “traditional meets modern farmhouse” look by using our Rail cabinet pull, Luna cabinet knob and Empire bin cabinet pull in silicon bronze, brushed patina to contrast the bright white cabinets. The space is simple, bright and airy, which makes our hardware a standout piece in this home.
Contemporary Kitchen
Clean and seamless, this custom-built kitchen marries an organic sophistication with a layered and lovely feel. Complemented by the Rocky Mountain Hardware Catch pulls and Shift Pendants, this space has a high-end custom look. The deep hue of the Hardware contrasting with the high gloss white cabinetry creates a light, fresh space.
Contemporary Cottage
Quality was king when designing this modern farmhouse, as well as creating a minimalist, casual family vibe throughout. In the kitchen, Rocky Mountain Hardware Rail pulls were used on 5 piece solid cabinet doors in Rift oak with glass-fronting to serve both a utilitarian and aesthetic role. Large 8’ white doors have a wide plank detail, but run vertically to contrast the wall paneling in direction but match it in styling. RMH’s Jane lever with Designer escutcheons was used with a white leather inset for a chic subtle tone-on-tone detail allowing the light patina to sparkle.
For a twist, a Rocky Mountain Hardware Stair Baluster was incorporated to fashion an integrated towel bar in one of the bathrooms. And, to transform the vanity in a furniture piece, its feet were adorned with RMH custom bronze caps for an added jewelry-like feel. The RMH flush pulls coordinate with the caps and blend with the rift oak cabinet stain.
Mountain Retreat
This family retreat perched on a mountaintop in Big Sky, Montana effortlessly combines unique design details around each corner. Comprised of wood, glass and stone and so filled with light and warmth that even the most dedicated skiers might be reluctant to leave. “Cozy is a good word to describe it, as well as sophisticated and dramatic,” says the clients’ designer, Heather Wells. Material choices play up the sense of drama. Our bronze Element collection perfectly compliment the mix of metals, textured fabrics and bright colors to complete this unique and playful stunner.
